Gumbo

Takes 2 hours

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add flour and mix in thoroughly, then continue stirring until the roux is a chocolate brown color (10 minutes).
  3. Add beer, onion, bell pepper, celery, and okra into roux, and cook 3 minutes.
  4. Add seasoning and garlic, and cook until fragrant (1 min).
  5. Add broth and water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 1 hour.
  6. Add protein, and simmer for another 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and serve with rice.

3 stalks Celery, chopped
1½ cups Okra, sliced
1 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper
1 Tbsp Cajun Seasoning
Black Pepper
3 cloves Garlic, chopped
4 cups Vegetable Broth
2 cups Water
