Refried Black Beans

  1. Heat oil in a medium pan.
  2. Add beans and their liquid to the hot pan, coat in the oil.
  3. Add spices except for the Mexican oregano, and mix thoroughly.
  4. Bring to a simmer, and lower heat.
  5. Add Mexican oregano, and start smashing beans in the pan, stirring until smooth (3–5 min).
  6. Remove from heat, and stir in butter until melted.
